Airflow Requirements: Our fire features require adequate airflow underneath to operate safely and efficiently. Placing the appliance over artificial grass, natural grass, carpet, or any uneven surface can obstruct this airflow, potentially leading to overheating and malfunction.

Water Retention and Damage: Artificial grass retains water, which can compromise the structural integrity and aesthetic appearance of the concrete units of the fire feature. Continuous exposure to water can cause damage, and this is especially concerning in outdoor environments where weather conditions can exacerbate the issue.

Outdoor fire tables significantly enhance property value and appeal. According to Zillow research, properties with outdoor fire features sell 2.8 days faster than similar homes without them. Fire tables can be safely used on wooden decks when you follow specific installation and operation guidelines. EcoSmart Fire bioethanol fire tables are approved for combustible surfaces like wooden decking, with one critical requirement: a minimum ½ inch [12.5 mm] air gap between the ground and the underside of the appliance. The product's height-adjustable articulating feet create this essential clearance, preventing direct contact between the burner base and flammable materials.

Because bioethanol fires produce no sparks or embers, they're inherently safer for timber decking than wood-burning alternatives. However, timber protection matters. Unsealed or porous wooden decks should be protected from moisture and water runoff from the fire table's operation. Keep flammable materials at least 1 metre away while the fire is lit, and allow the unit to cool completely before refuelling.

Level installation on a hard, flat surface is essential. Don't place the fire table on grass, uneven ground, or surfaces that flex or settle. Each table features 360-degree height-adjustable articulating feet for stable levelling after repositioning. Weight varies by model, typically between 35.74 kg [78.8 lb] and 81.74 kg [180.2 lb], depending on the material finish. Simply position the table on solid, level ground with adequate clearance (minimum 600 mm [23.6 in] to adjacent furniture and 2,000 mm [78.7 in] overhead), and you're ready to enjoy the flames.
